Zanimiv dodatek na koncu potrdila o odpošiljanju po tem, ko sem opravila spletni nakup. Poleg običajnega mumbo-jumbo je bilo na koncu sporočila pripeto še slednje:
“Well that’s about it. When we’re not ensuring orders are delivered properly, we’re making French Toast and playing Beatles records on our Victrola. So we’ll be getting back to Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band now.
In closing, we’d like to thank you for ordering from xxx.com
We really appreciate it. But we know “appreciation” is just a word.
You can’t go to the store and buy food for your family with “appreciation”.
You can’t tell the police officer who pulled you over, “that’s ok officer, no need for a ticket this time. Mike over at xxx dot com says he appreciates my business. So…you take it and keep the change.”
He’d probably pull you out of the car, slap cuffs on you, and haul you down to the station and book you.
Getting back to a proper thanking.
We had an idea, an idea born of this day and age where social media is so prevalent in all our lives.
Send me an email at xxx@xxx.com, with your order # in the subject field and a bunch of your URLs in the body of the email.
Want me to “like” your Facebook page? No problem, just send me the link and I’ll click “like”.
Want me to subscribe to your Youtube channel? No problem, just send me the link and I’ll click “subscribe”.
Want me to subscribe to your newsletter? No problem, just send me the link and I’ll add it to my Google Reader. Better yet, I’ll email subscribe to it. It’s up to you.
Do you have a blog? Want me to link to your blog from our blog? No problem, just send me the link of your blog and I’ll link to it (no need to link back, unless you absolutely want to).
Want me to click upvote something with Google Plus? No problem, just send me the link and I’ll click on it.
Want me to retweet something for you? No problem there either. Just show me the tweet and I’ll RT it properly, with @yourname on it.
Basically, if there’s something socially media-like I can do for you, with the click of my mouse and the clack of my keyboard, then please don’t hesitate to mention it in your email.
That you are a valued customer, it’s the least I can do.
:) <– in case, you’re not too familiar with this whole interwebz-thingy, that’s an emoticon (emotional icon). That’s me smiling at you, as if to say in person, “Thank you for your business. Of all the millions of stores on the Internet, that you should arrive at mine and buy something from me, I’m really thankful for that.”
